Building a Custom TV Entertainment Center in Nocatee, FL

The Project

This Nocatee family wanted their living room to feel like the heart of the house — somewhere their two kids could pile onto the couch on Friday nights without staring at a wall of cords and a TV stand that didn't fit the space. We built them a full-wall custom entertainment center: floor-to-ceiling cabinetry, a recessed Touchstone electric fireplace, and warm white oak floating shelves flanking the screen.

The Challenge

The wall was 14 feet wide with a 9-foot ceiling, but the existing outlets and cable runs were nowhere near where the TV needed to live. On top of that, the homeowners wanted hidden component storage that wouldn't kill the airflow — a quiet but real problem with closed cabinets and warm receivers. We mapped power, low-voltage, and ventilation before a single board got cut.

The Build

We framed the wall with poplar, ran new outlets and a recessed HDMI conduit behind the firebox, and built the lower cabinets with soft-close shaker doors painted in a deep charcoal. The floating shelves are 2-inch solid white oak with a hand-rubbed finish — the kind of thing you only get when you mill and finish on site instead of dropping in a flat-pack from a big box.

The Result

The whole job took four days from demo to final reveal. The clients said the room finally feels finished — and a few of their neighbors in Nocatee have already reached out for similar projects.
