What drives the price
Beam count, room size, and profile complexity set the price: a few box beams across a bedroom cost far less than a full coffered grid with crown inside every recess. Stained wood beams cost more than painted, and taller ceilings add staging time. One all-in price covers layout, build, and finish.
Timeline
A simple box-beam ceiling is typically installed and finished in one to two days; a full coffered ceiling usually runs three to five. The room stays usable most evenings. We mask, work overhead, and clean up daily.
Materials & finish
Beams are hollow, lightweight boxes built from finish lumber or paint-grade stock: the look of solid timber without the weight. Painted beams match your trim enamel; stained beams are wrapped in real wood like white oak or pine, finished in place.
Care & maintenance
Ceiling detail is about the lowest-maintenance carpentry there is: an occasional dusting with an extended duster is all box beams and coffers ask for. Seasonal hairline movement at caulk lines is normal in any wood ceiling and touches up easily. And workmanship issues in the first year are on us.
