A flat wall and a floor TV stand were all this Isle of Palms living room had going for it. We built the whole thing out. A soaring two-story staircase wall in Ponte Vedra Beach was dead white and felt cold. We stained nearly 200 wood slats, ran into a color mismatch, replaned every board, restained them, and finished with a floor-to-ceiling slat wall that makes the whole house feel like a home.

Fireplace Makeover & TV Entertainment Center in Neptune Beach, FL

Custom Fireplace Mantel & TV Feature Wall in World Golf Village, St. Augustine FL

We framed it out from scratch, ran vertical tongue-and-groove planking floor to crown, hand-built a traditional fireplace surround in our Jacksonville shop, and finished the whole wall in deep warm charcoal, checkerboard tile hearth and all.
